The Idea – Early 2022
Our journey began with a simple realization: the market lacked the platform we needed to build the kind of Managed WordPress experience we believed in. As a driven startup in the hosting space, we searched for a solution that could empower us to deliver the performance, flexibility and quality of the industry’s biggest names. But it didn’t exist. So we made a decision: Instead of settling for limitations, we chose to build the future of WordPress Hosting ourselves. We invested heavily in talent, time and technology.
Prototype – Mid 2022
Within weeks, our first concepts took shape and we quickly built out our initial development stack. We moved fast, scaled on a major cloud hyperscaler (wait for it ..), and poured in everything we had: time, money and energy. But our approach was too software-focused. We underestimated the importance of hardware and network architecture. By relying on low-cost cloud infrastructure, we limited the very performance we were chasing. The lesson was clear: true speed and reliability require full-system engineering from the ground up.
Performance – Early 2023
During our prototype phase, we quickly realized that great software alone wasn’t enough. Full-system engineering became essential. We expanded our scope, adding data centers, server hardware, routing and content delivery to our playbook. By analyzing global routing data and evaluating the largest CDNs, we identified the best-performing facilities worldwide. Soon after, we signed our first contracts and deployed state-of-the-art infrastructure in some of the fastest, most secure data centers on planet earth.
Codebase – Early 2024
We paused to even rethink our software stack, asking ourselves if this was truly the best we could do – or if there was room for even greater improvement. Seeking better speed and reliability, we rewrote the codebase, moving from our mixed Node.js, Python, and Go prototype backend to a streamlined Rust architecture. Though relaunching took time, the effort paid off. Our proprietary platform now runs entirely on Rust, powering our CDN edge, orchestration- and node- masters, instance agents, and backup and recovery systems. We love Rust.
Built. Polished. Delivered.
After relentless effort, countless tweaks, a full stack rewrite, and an intensive beta phase, we launched production in early 2025 – and we’re ecstatic! Our system is lightning-fast, ultra-reliable, and brimming with features we once only dreamed of. Along the way, we found our calling: not to compete as a hosting provider, but to empower others. So, we’ve shifted focus. Now, we’re delivering our breakthrough platform to hosting companies facing the same challenges we did – unlocking their potential with a solution that changes the game.
